Portfolio assessment.

Get ahead

Manage biodiversity risks in your portfolio.

Are you:

  • Managing a portfolio of several company investments, perhaps across several sectors?
  • Looking for ways to include the growing nature and biodiversity crisis into your risk management?
  • Convinced that this will be a core skill that you need to have inhouse going forward?

Our portfolio assessment process is currently in development. It is tailored to asset managers and the finance sector.

Scheduled for completion in Q4 2024, this process will enable you to screen your investment or loan portfolios to identify areas with the highest nature and biodiversity-related risks.

We will also provide guidance on how to engage with portfolio companies and what data to request, ensuring you gain the insights needed to effectively manage these risks. Our approach is customized to align with your existing ESG risk management practices, bridging the gap between learning and action.

Portfolio assessment process in overview.

The Portfolio Assessment Process will follow the same structure as the Guided Baseline Process for businesses, featuring 12 expert-led sessions, alternating between guidance sessions—where new topics and tools are introduced—and review sessions, where our experts assess participants’ “homework”.

Between sessions, participants apply what they’ve learned by gathering data, engaging with colleagues, and practicing the tools provided. This approach delivers high-quality expertise in biodiversity reporting and management at minimal cost, as most of the groundwork is carried out by your team. By the end of the process, participants will be equipped to maintain the baseline data and structure for years to come.

The cost of the assessment process also includes a full-year membership for one person in our excellence networks, where we provide updates on reporting requirements, new data, tools, and facilitate peer learning.
